My opinion is that CRT will do better as far as deep dark consistent black levels. As far as color pop, they are both excellent!
As far as perfect geometry, convergence and uniformity plasma wins there.
A good plasma display can hold its own when compared to a CRT. Just don't expect those deep dark crazy black levels with a plasma.
