I looked at some large TV's yesterday, 40 some inches from about 2 1/2 feet away, maybe they were 50 " + TV's I'm not sure.
But I got the sensation of being engulfed and that was uncomfortable for me.
The TV's were stacked so there were multiple screens in front of me and that may have played a role in the engulfed feeling I got. That and they were showing running ice water and running pigs fleeing the swamp with a nervous urgent voiced commentator.
So I think if the TV's engulf you then the TV's too big.
And for these glasses I think if the screens can be made black then they can show crisp pictures and not just AR.
They would be models of iPod touch screens but they would only be screens the glasses projectors would beam onto them like Google Glass does.
The way the screens are situated I think they wouldn't engulf you, but I would have to see to be sure.
To test this Idea I may get a rod that extends from a bike riding helmet and at the tip of the beam another beam goes down and from that beam I attach two iPod touch screens and then block the crosstalk between the two eyes by adding a wall between the two eyes screens.
