Looking for a new TV for no more than $1,200 - 3D/Smart TV functions aren't important at all, just looking for good PQ especially black levels. Hopefully bigger than 55".
I've been looking at these two:
I'm torn between a plasma now, some of the IR/Burn in threads have me a little nervous about pulling the trigger on the Panasonic.
It's main use will be movies, no cable or TV apart from blu-ray TV shows, and some PC gaming.
Also will be used for video editing, so having it as a full screen reference monitor, to color grade off also.
Any thoughts? Or any other recommendations that might fit my needs better?
In the LCD forum, there's a thread dedicated to finding an LCD. In the plasma forum, there's one a well. Since you're trying to decide between an LCD and a plasma I'd suggest you take a look at this thread here (I set the link to drop you on the last post):
Using Artificial Life algorithms, I created a bunch of creatures and let them evolve on my system. Over the years they gained intelligence, a society, and quite a few interesting abilities. However, using the rules from their world, they concluded that I did not exist. So I created a special creature meant to spread the Word about Me with amazing magical abilities that only He had. Went well, until they decided to nail the poor Guy to a tree.
