After reading thought this forum I have decided the fact that there are no replacement parts and the dealer selling the item was not authorized, it was not worth the risk. Even at $3,500, the risk was too great. Would have love to own this display, I just did not want to be stuck in a bad situation with a $3,500 paper weight.

Exchanged the defective glasses. The replacement SSG-3570CR charged in minutes and paired instantly with the Samsung KN55S9C. Yay!!

The SSG-3570CR is identical in appearance to the Active 3D glasses that come with the Samsung OLED, except it doesn't have the ear buds to carry separate audio. This also makes it lighter which is a plus with me.

I am truly bummed about it. If the dealer was authorized so I would at least get my money back I would have taken the gamble

That's a pretty big gamble

It's too bad there weren't more competitors in the oled market, us buyers can only benefit from it

I bet if Samsung was still making oleds LG would not have cut corners with the processor they used in the 9300. That is what happens without competition, manufactures cut corners and get lazy.

If I owned one from a actual dealer I would have thrown on an extended warranty and enjoyed. The scary thing is purchasing an item like this from a non-authorized dealer. Then if you have problems, Samsung can get away with laughing at you.

The Saga Continues

So as the saying goes, "if it's meant to be, it will be". I go on Ebay this evening and there is a someone selling a Samsung OLED for $2,000. For this amount it was worth the gamble so I pulled the Buy It NOW and should have the display this week. The advantage now is I will have the 9300 and the KN55s9 side by side in my own personal Shootout.

I will give you my honest feedback based upon what I see and not measurements. I am so happy I waited and saved the $1,500 and with purchasing with paypal I am guaranteed a working display.

If you send me one bottle for every change of heart you had, you'll need a truck to deliver them.

Please don't forget that Paypal and ebay are very PRO buyer versus pro seller. If you have any issues whatsoever, and if you feel that the tv isn't exactly -to the nitty gritty letter of the ad description -what you expect it to be, you can return it and I'm fairly certain the seller has to pay the return shipping, or at least refund your original shipping. I once purchased a Sony 200 dvd jukebox that didn't live up to the ad specs and paypal saved my bacon

Ebay is one of the best places to buy this tv, if the price is right. You have a guarantee if paypal is used and ebay emailed me a two year extended warranty for $79 that will repair or pay you the full price paid for the display. The other option offered is $179 for a four year. You have 30 days to purchase, I am waiting to make sure the set is delivered without damage.

Agreed I am happy I am only a casualty gamer. There enough problems to worry about in a display, I would hate to add input lag to my list.

Can someone who owns this display let me know if there are any 3d glasses that work with this display? I am not a not 3d fan but would like to track down some extra glasses.

This week sometime. I cannot wait to do a side by side with the 9800. The big thing I think I will prefer on the Samsung is motion. I would not be surprised to find I like some things more on the 9800.

let us know, either way
theres no doubt that the tech it took to build the samsung is a more expensive process than the lg, have only heard positive things about the set vs the lg

also, could you post some pics of the set itself(not content on the screen)?
thanks
