I would not trade this Samsung Oled for a 65" LG 4K OLED, it is just as close too perfect as they come.

Are these things still being made? Local store still has a display unit out and asking $5000 for it!

Thanks, the LG is great also. There is something special about excellent motion and the LG's color just seems off in comparison. LG claims they cannot add BFI to their WRGB pixlels which means they will never fix the motion issue.

There are probably only 5 owners of the Samung OLED on this forum. Very sad this display cost so much to manufacture they could not keep going.

Thank you. In no way do I want to knock the LG OLED but after watching this TV with RGB color and no NR filter I think I would pick and elite or a f8500 over the LG OLED. The LG has perfect blacks and contrast but there is always something strange about the colors and motion.

While contrast and black levels are most important, IMO LG will never get the color correct with WRGB and no chance of BFI. The only thing LG beats the Samsung on is bright room watching. The Samsung oled has a screen similar to the F8500 and does get a little washed out. The LG OLED is the best bright room display I have ever watched.

The Samsung OLED reminds me of an F8500 on steroids with better blacks and contrast. I am a BIG fan of Samsung and hope they come back and build more RGB OLED's, too my eyes LG OLED is not in the same league.

^ Actually, aside from cyan, there was nothing wrong with the shootout's 9300 color. In fact, it was extremely difficult to distinguish it from most of the other displays.

I think you're doing another one of your patented 180s. You really need to read your prior posts of all the displays you've owned. They were all incredible, including color, detail etc. until you got rid of them for the next one. The scenario is always the same. Always.

You also need to re-read your posts that start with "in no way do I want to knock the LG OLED..." or "The LG OLED is a great display, but...." These remarks now end with the LG having bad color and issues with the NR filter.

There's no way you'll still have this Samsung in 6 months, you know it, I know it and everyone here knows it. At that point we'll hear what all the Samsung's failings were.

Now, where did I put my meds?

Until you live with a Samsung OLED you don't know how good it is. Fan of the 9300 but motion issues and color just something a little wired about the color makes it third on my list. NO BFI ever for WRGB, that's scary especially when you get to the larger displays.

I used to think McDonalds cheeseburger were great until I had a Burger King then realized none were as good as In & Out Burger. It's not a 180, it's experience with better and better items.

The Calibrators who know what too look for as this is their profession had the Shootout correct. The NR filter on the LG probably is its biggest fault.

For those in the Midwest the White Castle might give In & out a run for the money.

Wow. What a difference 8 days makes as this is what you said 8 days ago, before you sold your second 9300:

I haven't been looking on this forum long, but what you say before you sell a display and what you say afterwards seem to me almost like they could be coming from 2 different personalities.

I'm guessing I don't even need to go grab posts from you trashing others for saying negative things about the 9300 when you owned one for many people to recall that.

My eyes were used to the NR filter, now that it's been removed I realize how much it's taking from the picture. The Calibrators at the Shootout really did have it right. F8500 owners should wait for RGB OLEDS and no NR filter.
The 9300 is a Great TV with incredible black levels and contrast. Without BFI and with the NR filter stuck especially the NR filter it's just not on the level of the Samsung oled.

After the Shootout I thought the people who voted for the f8500 were just plasma lovers, what's clear now is they were just excellent picture quality lovers.

Everything's not black and white. I really can believe the LG OLED is a great display but like the Samsung better. It's a TV, I'm not switching religions.

I not bashing the 9300, I just think the f8500 offers better motion, color is 60" and is flat. That's a pretty solid resume.

You won't find me bashing the 9300, it's a top display just not my top choice.

I do agree with Vegas with regard to some of his views on the Samsung over the LG I do admit he changes his mind frequently, however he is one if not the only one on this forum to have spent time with 3 different OLED's one from Samsung and two from LG and both different generations of OLED. His critique of the Samsung vs the LG are accurate in SOME WAYS but not all in MY EYES. The samsung is a bit better with motion and colors and the LG does have a bit more pop. Will Vegas be happy with the Samsung only the next few days will tell LOL maybe hours but one thing I will say is the F8500 is not a winner over the any LG OLED and I know because I have all these sets in question and the Samsung OLED has its shortfalls to and Vegas will point them out but there is somewhat of a luster with always having and unboxing a new TV for the first time and I believe Vegas has grown somewhat obsessed not just with the picture quality but just getting a new TV. I mean I have had the bug before with purchasing new sets but damn Vegas has got it bad LOL thank GOD he is not into high end audio some of that stuff may have him getting a second mortgage. It is great to see another Samsung OLED owner and the only thing I have left to say is Vegas bring on more pics because when I take pics they are the crappiest things ever so I rely on you to keep this thread alive with great pics all I ask is you try and post a few every couple days and I will be a happy camper once again CONGRATS ON THE SET AND HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOU.

P.S. Ken go grab a bottle of Xanax and a few shots of something strong because these next few weeks is going to get pretty rough in these OLED forums because there is an official changing of the guard from the LG 9800 to the LG9300 and now the Samsung S9

It's very though once you own an OLED to fo back. You just would have too avoid this forum and any store that might display a LG OLED. If am glad to see the 9300 and 9800 starting to sell well, OLED is the future.

That's exactly how I felt too. Both the LG OLED's I saw the color never seemed right even after advanced calibration with a calibrator. The samsung is far better right out of the box and looks right with any content. The LG is great, but if you want accurate colors on all your content look elsewhere.

Also, I did a cold boot and a factory reset on my TV and it seemed to fix the problem with it randomly restarting (so far).

Vegas, what's your warranty situation on the Samsung OLED? I assume the original manufacturer coverage expired some time ago on this used set.

^ More importantly, how come the colors (cyan aside) DID seem right on the calibrated 9300 at the shootout? With the variety of content displayed, most of the displays, including the LG, seemed extremely similar to me.
