One last question for anyone that may know:

What extended warranty does LG offer and how much does it cost/cover?
Having trouble finding it on the net

EDIT #2: As in most other similar products, it does not cover: "Television or personal computer monitor screen imperfections, including ‘burn in’ or burned CRT phosphor, caused by video games, prolonged display of one or more signal(s), or other abuse." Seems a little more restrictive than the Mack Warranty for my Panasonic ZT60 in that regard. Decisions, decisions.

I didn't see any IR/burn-in in those photos, just poor uniformity and a reflection of some blinds.

its just a ton of reading and i would filter the owners from the non owners and i just realized that you were an owner

although this tv isnt perfect,(issues mostly showing up on slides, gray screens, etc), its seems to unanimously have the best picture

thanks for the warranty info Vinnie, do you know what the cost is?

LG is keeping that info close to the chest, it appears. I also haven't gotten that far in uncovering the price. If you do so before me, feel free to let us know!

Wow 151 for three years? And they cover all the replacements you'd ever need plus if it's discontinued you're at the very least guaranteed another 1080p OLED. That's what they told me when the tech was trying to sell it to me anyhow. And that's really, really worth it.

Vak interesting idea about the variable contrast during break in. What gave you the idea? Smart man for running it in too. Despite what LG or the others who got perfect panels say, on my end I'm convinced that my panel becomes more resilient by the day.

If I sow a wind now, I will reap a storm.

Thanks in advance!
There is a game mode setting, though I don't think it reduces lag it just contains a different set of picture options. I like it very much. Personally, and I'm in the middle of playing an MMORPG on the thing, it seems to have less lag than many other tv's I've tried. Though probably not ideal for the call of duty competitive enthusiast it's more than just fine for an average gamer. And like I always say (like a broken record, because it's that important), you decrease the lag substantially by disabling the speakers. Even if you have it hooked up to a receiver and the built in speakers are being bypassed, you still have to manually go in and completely disable them. The amount of lag it saves is very noticeable, so I'm not sure whether they were using them during the review process.

If I sow a wind now, I will reap a storm.

Think i read sumting abt that on a plasma tread that people tryed the low n higher n higher contrast run in. If it works i dont know but it cant be harmfull to try it.

The stuff behind the green looks like blinds in front of a window to me.

Congrats, Vak...if you don't notice any gray motherboard imprint (I think I was the first to report this), it's clear to me that LG is already making improvements. Up next is to check for your grayscale uniformity and letterbox IR resilience. How many hours will you be breaking in?

Can we get parts of serial numbers or build dates or whatever is safe to publish here? It would be helpful to determine a trend, if there is one.

Sure...but I don't know the replacement panel's part #/build date. In my case, the TV proper was built in October 2013. I suppose we could look at serial #s for a pattern, but I don't think it's necessary to go hog wild with all that info right now with so few owners still reporting.

I am not sure about the rules covering linking other forums, but Robert Zohn just posted that the current price cut to the LG OLED's was based on an instant rebate that is supposed to last a week. The prices are supposed to revert back to $5999 and $6499 on Saturday.

Fry's price cut was actually before last Saturday, so who knows if this is right? Just thought some who might be considering purchasing might want to know.

I wonder if that's because they decided to release versions of it without crazy artifacts.....
