This is going to be a tough consensus for you guys to reach: Does the TV in general seem to get better over time (and wear) or does it seem to in general get worse?
Just checked now as I'm gonna have to pack it up in the next 15 minutes seems like its started to fade would have been nice to keep it unpacked so I could be sure it would go.
I was just getting into house of cards and forgot all about IR.
Well i was writing this and the new set came its not in the same box looks like it will be harder to get out.
No idea if that will help, but I remember a post by plague where a pixel came back and he thought it might have happened right after updating the firmware. Good luck.

Yeah for whatever bizarre reason I did regain a dead sub after updating FW, though I suspect it was just coincidence. I still don't know how a pixel came back from the dead but I better not complain too much...wow though that is freaking terrifying how that bar looks on the avengers!!!! Holey Moley. I feel like when it happens it's more.of a random thing than anything.

I'd say so, yes. It adds to the complexity and stress...which is why I'd choose a flat panel before a curved one, all other things (especially price) being equal or close.
White pixels have fixed them self's but these lines that I have near the top are terrible its awful I'm still hoping its IR from the setup menu or something but if its not I cant life with it.
Also a vertical line in the middle too don't think it was there when I first turned it on but I've watched nothing that would leave IR.
