I am moving into a new house and will be mounting a flat panel above the fireplace. The fireplace itself has windows on both sides. The rear area is open to the entry and dining room and should not have too much direct sunlight coming in to cause reflections.

So what is best above the fireplace...a plasma or a LCD? I currently have a 50" Panny PZ80U plasma that I was thinking about using, but obviously concerned about reflections and image being washed out from the side windows. Concerns with the LCD are viewing angles and the fact that I would have to buy one ($$). Any suggestions?

Could you just install the Z80U first and watch it without too much difficulty?
