LCDs without the fake 120Hz mode can only do 300 lines of resolution at 60Hz. What about plasma motion resolution without the 120Hz interpolation? I see many people talk about it, but I never see an actual number!

Take a look at Cnet tv reviews, they have motion resolution numbers there.

Plasma always has the full 1080 lines of motion resolution. A good source of this kind of info is http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/

vinnie97: How long do you think it will be before we see affordable flat OLED in at least 65 inch sizes?

LCD world wide dominjation feels like German occupation of Paris in World War II.

Who can take it?

I know, I'm struggling m'self. I am cautiously awaiting to see how wonderful the Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio Master series FALD TVs (if the latter even arrive) are in the meantime because it's the only prospect we have (and the Sony isn't exactly affordable either with an SRP of $8k). An affordable flat OLED above 25" (Sony's monitor is still selling for $23k+ on BHPhotoVideo!) still needs to be released before that can ever hope to be achieved, and LG's limited release of their 55" flatscreen in a few Euro markets doesn't count. frown.gif That Samsung CTO's forecast is probably correct, and probably more likely to be near the end of the prediction than at the beginning (3 to 5 years). 2019? eek.gif

My Panasonic S60 is rated as 700 lines of motion resolution, and it really does feel like twice better than the LCDs.

There are a few caveats though. While my S60 has same motion resolution as the VT60/ZT60, The VT60/ZT60 will actually feel smoother because of lack of phosphor trailing that my S60 has. The plasmas also seem to take a big hit in fluidity when caught in judders. All in all, I bought a plasma TV for my gaming purpose because of combinations of good motion performance and picture quality.

When the image splits into three separate but distinct images on a PDP, can you triple that number to 3240?

If they would make LCD with three screens then they would make progress on the viewing angles problem.

Until then LCD is a solo proposition.

artwood about 10 years oled will be affordable in the 65 inch , though oled will probably be curved ( how ironic like our old crt tube tv back in the day.)
