We are currrently in the market for a plasma as the room we have is very bright and we want the brightest most clear picture. We were gonna go for the Pioneer Elite pro 1000 but decided to wait. I told my mom that the pioneer elite is only a monitor and requires additional equipment to run like a tv. we then came upon the Pioneer 5030hd which sounds like a plug in tv. I guess my question is is the only advantage to the pioneer Elite is that you can hook up your own sound system to it? I know of the Urishi finish and the extended warranty. I mean we are not audiophiles of any type, but I imagine part of the experience of watching plasma is the sound one can offer. Does this suffer on the 5030? I think we just want a clear bright tv and will watch the occasional DVD. Also we plan to get a satellite Hdtv converter in the future. Should this sway our desicion any way. I value any input that people may have. We are new to this, so sorry for this type of question.
