I've been wondering what the stand/bezel is officially going to be too. I keep seeing different versions in all the posted photos...

Looks like the 55/65EC9700 4K OLED TV won't feature the Leaf stand that the 55EC9300 and the 77EC9800 have.
See http://www.lg.com/es/television/lg-65EC970V and http://www.lg.com/es/television/lg-55EC970V
Still looks nice enough, although a bit normal.

Here's a spanish listing of all current and upcoming LG OLED TVs, see http://www.lg.com/es/televisor-oled

Love the style and the minimal bezel. It looks better than the 77" model. Wish it was flat though but I guess in due time. Ready to dump my KRP-500M!

Yeah, it does. Maybe that means that the 55" 4K OLED won't be that much behind the other models, after all.
Not that it matters to me. It's either the 55" Full HD or the 65" 4K for me.

I really like that there's no thick bottom bezel, like the 77 has.

agreed, never thought the 9800 looked bad until seeing the 9300, now it looks kind of cheap

if I were you, i would wait until the 65' came out, might be a few more months, but the extra 10' is worth it

As tempting it is to jump in soon im trying to hold back 4k is the future even if its needed or liked , full hd in 3d with passive glasses is a added bonus.

^ you nailed it for me. The sole reason I will buy a 4K set when there's a 1080p alternative is for the improved 3D in Passive mode only.

BTW, the previous base was pretty classy looking. It required the right type of setup. I really liked the look of it in Masterbrewer's setup.

A certain 'photo' store on the east coast is apparently taking pre-orders for the 65EC9700 with a proposed delivery date of September 30th... and the price is looking a bit better, still expensive but a long way from $15k that was mentioned in early reports!

This unit would look great on my wall, when I saw the LG 55 1080p OLED a couple of months ago I knew that a 4K OLED was the only worthy successor to my venerable old Sammy plasma.

Great to see, on the following Spanish LG site, that the 65" set does not appear to have the same heavy black ribbon along the bottom that the 77" is sporting...

Looks a lot lighter and sleeker without it, so a big thumbs up from me!

Reminds me of the design of the Sony W900A. I like it.

I've been following this thread for several weeks now and today placed a pre-order with ClevelandAV for a 65 EC 9700. This set, when it gets here, will replace a four year old Pioneer 141FD 60" monitor. The Pio' will be a hard act to follow. I hope that ClevelandAV rocks.

I have my 65" pre-order in with Cleveland, everyone should consider a forum sponsor for purchase.

Here's the link to the award and a bit on the 77" LG.

http://www.eisa.eu/awards/home-theat...015.html#award

Edit: Watching the video, the display actually looks quite pretty. What's odd is that at times, the curve looks more accentuated than the 55". I think this is just the camera work.

"Fast clear motion", huh? Wonder if this set is really an improvement motion wise over last year's EA9800.
Such a sexy TV though.

I also noticed that the back of the TV seems to resemble the Samsung Full HD OLED, while last year's EA9800 is very thin at the edges but thicker in the middle where all the video connections are situated.

I'm not very taken with the thick black ribbon of plastic along the bottom, and I'm glad it seems that the 65" is free of this,

However, it's still a beautiful looking TV.
