I love how there are already 300 posts in an "owners" thread.

Opening up these owners threads early without any real info is just a complete waste of time.

Just people fishing for information. Unfortunately LG hasn't stocked the pond yet.

Not long to wait though.

When is it out? I'm curious to hear comparisons with the EA9800.

24th August according to: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/55ec9...1408143881.htm

Although this report mentions that there seems to be a question mark over whether it will come to the EU as the 55EC930V.

Agreed, this thread should be renamed and a new owners thread created next week.

I don't understand how the F8500 is so highly regarded. I bought that set last year and took it back a week later. The color was just horrible. I thought it was just maybe my set so I went and looked in store and it looked the same. Everything was just really muted and washed out looking. I spent a lot of time trying different settings too. Maybe that is how color is supposed to look and I'm just used to watching over saturated Samsung LCDs, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I ended up getting the 65XBR850A which stomps all over the F8500 to my eyes, although it's far from perfect too. I'm hoping this LG OLED is as perfect as you can get buying a 55" set today. I do wish it was flat and did t have the motion remote, but I can always use my Logitech harmony.

Anyone know if this OBW100 (something like that?) accessory is needed to wall mount the TV? I don't actually want to mount it on my wall, i have a TV stand that has a mount built into it. If there are VESA holes in the back I shouldn't need anything else.

Looks like it is not so curved as EA9800, which is very good news.
Vegas OLED, would you confirm if this is true when you receive your 9300?

Impossible to know what this is from a photo. It didn't take long for the critics.

I doubt very much this is banding as I never seen anything like this on Gen-1. More than likely some light reflection from the photo being at a weird angle.

Uh huhhhh. So you DON'T want people discussing the possibilities and what they're hoping for in a new generation? You'd rather everyone stay silent about what it is they're looking for in improvements in tech.

Yes, that's a ridiculous proposal.

Java developers, when I saw what has been placed into Java 8 I was immediately reminded of how I've spent so much of my life trying to protect engineers from themselves. Lambda expressions are a horrible idea. Gentlemen: the goal isn't to make code readable for a competent mid-level engineer. The goal is to make code readable for a competent mid-level engineer exhausted and hopped up on caffeine at 3 am. What a disaster Java 8 is!

It actually looks a little like the moire you can get from using a CCD/CMOS array (the camera) to capture a pixel array (the TV). A screen on screen type of effect.

Couldn't agree more. Its just a way to spam/direct the discussion. Much prefer the usual excited first owners opening up the official thread.

since it appears this product is not yet available: the thread title has been edited to an 'anticipation' thread'

when the first AVS member has one in hand: he should create an owners thread

Thank you

That thin bezel is SEXY! The curve doesn't look that bad either, very slight.

Where can I place my vote for you as 'AVS Forum Moderator of the Year', Mark :-)

p.s. I am guilty of being the OP on this thread (for the 55EC9300 as well as a few other new 2014 TVs) but will either use 'Anticipation' in the title if it is long before actual first owners are likely to materialize or will let actual first owners up the 'Official Owners' thread from here on out...

p.p.s. I would have changed the title myself when it was first suggested but there is apparently no way for the Thread Starter to modify the thread title.

Who will be first? Looks like. Value Electronics might have a Full ISF calibrated set on Monday morning for a lucky east coaster.

Would be pretty cool to own the famous OLED from the Shootout.

I just spoke with the LG marketing person for Vegas. A phone call was made too some Guru at Lg and they confirmed a 10 bit panel for the 559300. More good news is she stated she has never seen Burin only temporary IR. She stated that there demo left the LG logo on a OLED and the it was removed by turning the display off for 2 hours.

I am doubtful this girl even knows what a 10-bit panel is. Call-centers are ridiculously misinformed, even when passed through to the so-called experts.

The LG spec sheet for model 55EC9300 says "10 BIT-COLOR PROCESS"
