I love OLED but share this so people are in outages to wait for 2nd gen. If an LCD had the uniformity in grey scale that OLED had it would not be watchable, it is rarely visible on an OLED. I am persiuing the ghost of perfect, never will find it.

It's different when people just bash something they have never even seen. Many owners have posted negatives and positives.

Amazon has already pulled the 240 Hz spec from their home page. I sure hope the new set has more in performance upgrades than brightness, it is plenty bright.

Bigcoupe wants to recoupe some of that 10k when lg is a fraction of that price and nearly just as good I bet.

I would consider selling it because I would like a set that can be wall mounted. As for them being basically the same the LG and Samsung they are not as I do own both sets my Samsung OLED has no uniformity issues and no dead pixels. Samsung also does not have the IR issues that the LG has honestly Samsung has a superior set however LG is much cheaper and also has more models offered.

Pg 1, bottom right
So which part of that spec sheet is the mistake? The part about 4K UHD or the part about 10-bit support? I'm betting none of that spec applies to this TV.

I hate to say I told you so, but:

You really should have waited until after the shootout to see what's been improved (if anything). It's only a couple days away now.

I hear you but the price difference for the me look is a enough for me. I would not have paid thousands more, only a few hundred. The new set looks much nicer.

I am negotiating a samsung OLED with a local seller, if I get the price down I might jump too Samsung. Call me strange but I prefer no dead sub-pixels.

So let me get this straight - you've already ordered the LG 55EC9300, but are also in negotiations to buy the Samsung OLED set, presumably with the intention of returning one of them, if not both?

That's why people shouldn't assume. Although I have ordered from Amazon they do not charge your card until they ship which is going to be Monday or even Tuesday of next week. You can cancel your order up until then.

True, but only slightly and Ken review stated the could not pick one. No bad pixels and grey scale uniformity make a big plus but I believe LG's fix for blue sub-pixels and longevity might be better.

didnt the samsung have distortion issues when being viewed from the side? Also, doesnt it have the issue of the blue pixels dying at twice the rate of the Red and green?
Also, you will not have the ability to return or exchange the tv
but, you will be able to view your gray slides with a piece of mind

i understand the quest for perfection, but i think its unfair to expect any set to be able to deliver it
first year oled provides unmatched pq, sure its has its flaws, but compared to the competition, it really is like finding a flaw with a supermodel
not many of us are going to focus on her mole

Im not worried about burn in at this point as I have had the tv for 60 days and my viewing habits have been pretty consistent
the only things that are subject to burn in at this point would be watching nfl games all day(although commercials every other minute would eliminate any burn in potential)
also, if I get a new video game that Im hooked to, anything that is displayed for hours are subject to it

but, at this point, I am very comfortable with this tv

No. It had better grayscale uniformity but the curve created more distortions than the LG oled. Also Samsung's Blue pixel may have shorter life than LG's WRGB approach. Add to that a post in avforum that indicates Samsung has no spare parts for their oled tv.
