Sony PVMA250 OLED Monotor Overheating

I have recently purchased a Sony PVMA250 25" OLED monitor. Today while messing around with my HTPC behind the monitor I noticed the back of the monitor was very hot. I phoned the sales rep who said this was normal. It is working correctly but I was under the impression OLED was a low power technology. Does anybody else own this monitor and notice excessive heat coming from it?

I have the 55 lg oled and the panel containing the computer/boards are somewhat hot, reminds me of plasma
Edge of the screens are cool

OK thanks I guess it must be normal then. To be generating that sort of heat it must be consuming quite a bit of power which is not what I expected from an OLED display.

It's a professional monitor built for performance rather than a consumer product where efficiency is a concern - expect it to run hot.

Current LED LCD displays are very efficient. OLED isn't there yet.
