Large panel for digital photo frame
Hi, I hope that this is the right forum to ask this question. Would really appreciate any help in figuring this out.
My father is an enthusiast photographer and I would like to surprise him for his 60th birthday with a large digital picture frame to display his photos.
Researching in the web it seems like this can be built from the ground up using Raspberry Pi, but all DIY examples I saw used a small monitor. I'd like to build something much larger (40''-50'') and higher quality.
Any recommendations on how to find and buy a good 1080p LED display for this purpose for a normal price ($500-$1000)? I can see good screens in TVs, but I only need HDMI and none of the other components (tuner, speakers, many ports, etc.) and I'm much more interested in slimness, so I'd think a panel / monitor would be a better starting point.
Would really appreciate any advice!
