Question for any LG 55EA8800 Owners

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this panel and was wondering there are any owners that could comment on this tv. I was specifically wondering if this screen has the dark gray uniformity and off angle issues that the 9800 series has. Just wondering if this is caused by the screen being curved. Thanks

i do not own this tv, but, am part of another forum that has an owner
he reports no gray scale uniformity issues or any yellowing of the screen off angle

im not sure if im allowed to post this(mods, please delete if so), but I suggest you find avforums, get into the oled section, 9800 thread, and ask a member there by the name of patrick g, he is responsive and owns the 8800

If owning a flat OLED was my desire I would purchase now without question. It has 100 watt speakers built into the frame, best sound of any OLED.

I'm jumping on it and canceling my BB ec9300 order. Given that CP now has this at an insanely low price, I see no reason to pay more for the ec9300. The reason I bought it in the first place was because it was cheaper than the ea8800. Save a few hundred and get a speaker and don't have to deal with a weird curve, sounds like a win win! On a super large set the curve might not be a big deal, but on a 55 the curve is just too noticeable.

Smart move, if I wanted flat I would have made this move this morning when they lost my 9300. Enjoy your OLED . I am used too curve and really don't mind it.

Please start an owner's thread once it arrives! I'm very interested in the EA8800. That Cleveland Plasma price drop is NICE.

I own the set and have no uniformity issues or off angle issues and if you look at Cleveland plasmas signature he seems to have an incredible price on the flat it is the lowest price I have seen to date definitely worth giving him a call.

Vegas have you got the opportunity to go to your local best buy and look at the new EC9300 it truly is a beauty went to my local best buy and stared at it for over an hour just mesmerized you should really call and see I am pretty sure most of the best buys have the unit on display now.

one more thing the curve on the set is so subtle it almost does not even look like it has a curve, the EA9800 appeared to have more of a curve because of the way the clear bottom was on the set but now that the clear bottom is gone the bottom flows much better great job LG I think this may the most beautiful set I have ever seen aesthetically

NOPE just a regular best buy and even when you go on their website it says located in best buy it does not specify magnolia like the other LG models on the site.

spoke to someone i know who lives in henderson that is an avid enthusiast as well and he said that all the stores in Vegas have one in their system he just is not sure if they are display models or for sale at each store. You should look into that if you get free its truly a sight to see

They lost your 9300?!?!

One thing though, the ec has the new webos interface, ea doesn't. How big of a deal that is I don't know. I'm tempted to not cancel my BB order just so I can have both sets to compare. I've just already made a lot of returns this month that I'm not sure I should. If they will match the CP price on the 9300 maybe I'd just keep both of them. We just had a baby and that 8800 would look pretty cool in his room displaying art. Plus later in life he can say "I've had OLED since birth suckas!!" Haha.

Does anyone know if the 8800 is a 8 or 10 bit TV. Or is it even going to make a difference in picture quality.
