Anticipated price drop for ec9300?

With the new 4k OLED coming out soon, is there any expectation the 9300 will drop in price? I've seen it down to $2800 on costco to $2250 at East Coast.

Maybe once the the 4k versions are out, as of now the 55eg9600 is selling(pre order) for $5k and the flat version is supposed to be 500 bucks cheaper but due out in the summer time or maybe later, so perhaps by then.

Not sure about the States but in Canada, we've already seen the ec9300 sell for $2500 during the holiday season

A Forum Sponsor is also selling the 55EC9300 for $2400.

But are the current 9300's being sold at discount last year's production? I expect the 9300 to see a price reduction when the 4K sets come out - $2400 is my trigger price but I want a manufacturing date in 2015 so that some of the quality issues are worked out as well as they can be. If they can manufacture a decent 4k panel then the 1080p panels should be reliable.

Down to $2K at Microcenter now, not sure if it's only happening at select locations though (don't have one nearby). Someone posted the flyer here:

That is what I am hoping since they announced the new sets. One more reason to hope the UHD OLEDs become available as soon as possible.

In the shops where I live, right now, the EC9300 is considered a top quality tv (regardless of the lack of 4K). But as soon as the EF and EG come out, this will change. And maybe that will bring to some nice offer...

I really hope that will happen and the EC9300 will become (even) more affordable.

Same here. Jan 2015 manufacture date. The uniformity seems good on my panel too (no noticeable tinting on regular content at least).

Not much, but I do enjoy repeated viewings of Young Frankenstein. Seems like any reference quality display should be able to handle b&w without the tinting problems several owners have reported. I would love to hear what you find in your testing? Thanks.

Here are some shots from Sin City on my set...

I haven't had it calibrated, these are just from the default Cinema preset.

Turner Classic Movies would be a great source of test material, or just a disc of It's a Wonderful Life.

Last Monday, Fry's had a One Day Flash Sale on the EC9300 for $1499, plus they paid the sales tax. I took a chance and went to the one near my work and they had a demo and an open box. I chose the open box and walked out paying $1504 with the recycling fee. I didn't realize there was a place to determine the amount of time it's been in use, but I've been very pleased with it for the last week. I have been playing with it non-stop, and the picture is insanely good. This morning, I saw that the set had been on for 81 hours, of which I'm guessing is mostly mine (I calculated roughly 50 hours for us and 30 for the first owner). What I can't figure out is why the previous buyer sent it back! Must be crazy!! I can only imagine prices falling very soon.

Rumor has it a good number come back when purchasers find there are no VESA mounting holes on the back so they can't easily be wall mounted.

There are holes on the back. I mounted mine on a TV stand that had a built in Vesa mount.

hhgregg has this set for $2399.99 (not enough posts for a link).

Limited Availability, but shouldn't have any issue PM'ing at someplace like BestBuy.
