Where to buy LG OLED?

Looking to buy an 55EG9100 in the next week or so. Since the price just dropped, and its a continued model for 2016, I guess the price wont be coming down much more.

Should I just expect to pay the new 1999 price or is it worth looking into some of these online retailers (Nice, Shopsmart, Joes) to save 3-400 bucks?

For this type of cash, I'd get one from a reputable retailer and pay a few hundo more.

Do some homework on Nice Electronics...its not pretty. I did a quick search and found some threads that in summary said not to deal with any Brooklyn/Bronx/NY electronic sales as they are shady and post bait n switch type pricing.

Then there's this:

Don't know if the deals are as good as bf but I suppose it may be possible it could hit 1500 again around superbowl time.

Most AVSers would probably recommend Cleveland Plasma for an online seller that can give a good deal.

If you want a more traditional retailer, I just discovered a couple hours ago while looking through their monitors that Monoprice of all places actually has the 55EG9100, and it's at $1800 to boot:
https://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=14905

For reference, Monoprice only has listings for a whopping two other TVs (55EF9500 and 60" UHD Sharp Aquos), and interestingly enough all 3 are categorized under "Desktop Monitors"...

I'm looking at CP for a 65EF9600. Received a quote for $4200 including shipping. Sounded a lot better than BB's current price of $5999.

Any thoughts? Appreciate the feedback!

Price at Walmart on-line (sold by electronic express)

Found this at walmart on-line. What do you guys think considering the issues (vignetting etc.) reported with this TV. I found cheaper price elsewhere, e.g. Nice electronics but do not know the return policy of Nice so am wondering if buying from a place with good return policy is worth a few hundred more?

I am replacing a near flawless and still going strong, Pioneer PDP-5070. I saw the OLED models recently at the local BB and was blown away by the PQ but then read about the issues on this forum . How common is vignetting and other color issues with the flat profile, 65" OLED? Is there anything else that I need to watch for? Are these issues less with the 55" model?

Thank you.

Uhhh, there is no such thing as a 65EF9600...that's likely a mis-labeled 65EG9600 which you can get from Amazon from the exact same price...(and Amazon's return policy is legendary).

But the 65EF9500 costs the exact same amount on Amazon and it's pretty much better in every single way (unless you're someone that likes curved better).

On the 65EF9500 you have to look for yellow banding. All of them I've seen have at least some sort of minor vignetting, mine included. Just go in to a Best Buy and ask to see different content on it and decide for yourself if you think it's worth it. If you spend all your time on hear reading about the issues, you'll never get one. It is the best tv I've ever owned though for sure.

If I can not find my AV stuff locally, I buy from Crutchfield.

I bought mine from CP and was happy with the customer service. His price comes with a "price", No returns. I dealt with LG for my 2 defective sets. But LG was really easy to deal with, no problem or complaints here.

I would deal with reputable brick and mortar retailers. The LG OLEDs are sold at Best Buy, HH Gregg, Fry's, and MicroCenter among other stores. And hopefully the prices will drop again around Super Bowl week, as the 9100 was previously $1799 and will be continued in 2016.
