My JS8500 had clouding at top left, and my B6 had a 1.5" vertical band right down the middle.
Hoping my A1, if it is afflicted with banditis, has it closer to the edges so I don't see it as much.
It's all luck of the draw. I'm sure there's a few perfect ones out there somewhere.
Im going to be a "guy" here
and say that most panels from LG or any other mfger are just fine. AVS forums and others like it are for discussing problems. Posts about how happy everone is gets boring fast. So, this banding or whatever is NOT widespread at all. It affects a miniscule number of actual owners. of course, if people only got info from these forums then they'd never buy anything, lol! Check the Z9 threads or the KS9800 threads(or any others).... its nothng but "stuff going wrong". Just saying.
I agree with Chris at ClevelandAV that NO TV is perfect. Even this new Sony OLED
. It'll be a great set, Im sure. Im glad they(Sony
) are entering the game since the more mfgers doing OLED
, the better it is for the tech. Maybe next time Ill get me one?
This all being said - we all have a RIGHT to expect high quality panels and images from sets that cost a lot of money and are considered top of the line so that also comes into play!
