I'm very surprised the 65EZ1000 is less than $10k CAD. And only a $1000 difference between the 65EZ950C and 65EZ1000; it makes choosing the 65EZ1000 a no brainer.

Hopefully these will be available on bestbuy.ca and amazon.ca very soon.

Highly doubtful, usually only authorized retailers carry them. You can check on Panasonic website for dealers.

That sucks. I bought my Panasonic 60ST60 from amazon.ca back in 2013. None of those dealers are in my area. I would hope they offer delivery options to Ontario.

there is no benefit in pq in the ez1000 over the ez950. you can see the reviews. if you have a discrete sound system and don't need a soundbar, save the money and get ez950.

That's what I was trying to find out, the major differences between the two, but if it's only the sound bar mainly well yes the ez950 would be a better buy than. Do you have a link to reviews?

The sound bar and the ez1000 has a black filter so you don't get magenta reflections like you do on the EZ950. I purchased 2 EZ950s last week (I'm in Australia) and I couldn't be happier, stunning picture and I got a great price (about 35% off RRP).

The difference between ez1000 and ez950 is that ez1000 additionaly has
a soundbar (no benefit if you have a discrete sound system)
an absolute black filter to reduce reflections (this doesnt really help much. if you watch in mid to dim environment this shouldn't be an issue at all)
3D look up tables (the picture looks good in the cinema or professional modes without the need for them).

You can google ez1000 vs ez950, hdtvtest/vincent has also done a comparison between these these two models, you can look it up. In pq, there is no advantage the ez1000 has, the color accuracy and motion processing on both sets is just the same. panasonic is charging a steep premium on the ez1000 because they call it their flagship model.

Hmm... they changed the stand from pedestal type to feet on the EZ950. Gotta say that I preferred the pedestal. Hopefully that stand can be bought separate.

I couldn't agree more with the picture quality on the EZ950, absolutely stunning and yes the price through JBHifi in Australia was great.

Hoping to receive my EZ950 this week. I went with that over the 1000 since I don't need the sound bar with a 9.2 HT setup.

have they launched in thailand now as well? a few months back, thailand was not on the list of asian countries being supported by panasonic oleds. but good to see panasonic is expanding, next year they should have more presence. i'm also curious to see what improvements next year's panasonic oleds bring, the current ones look fantastic as it is, i just hope they drop their arrogance and add support for dolby vision and settle at more consumer friendly msrp's that could challenge lg's sales.

They can't challenge LG sales by avoiding one of the biggest markets.

Yes In Thailand but we have only pana 65" and 77" end of this this...
Sony launched 55" and 65" only
LG launched B C E G not W series.
I love my Sony A1 too which I replace my 55A1 with 65Ez1 in my bedroom and I prefer Ez1 better richer colour and dark deeper details richer details background than A1 even lack DV. I hope Pana join the DV soon.

we got 65E6 mostly mom uses it in the living room . DV on E6 looks amazing but I don't see anything DV form E6 is better than HDR10 from A1 or Pana Ez1. only you compare DV vs HDR10 on the same Set .. I think you need seriously professional Calibrator to calibrate LG to get outstanding HDR and DV.
However I believe DV is much better by technology.

panasonic can't challenge LG's Sales coz the Price. you can get 65B7 almost at the same price of 55A1 .

I agree about colors, the panasonic excels at it. i have not bought oled yet, but my order of preference based on what i've seen would be panasonic, sony and then lg.
panasonic won't get DV on this year's models and they have given no indication so far of teaming with dolby in the future, so it isn't certain they'll have DV next year. and panasonic's price and marketing is shoddy compared to lg. panasonic oleds are not as widely known to people because they don't advertise like lg. and their steep pricing is not able to get them push many units. im in asia too but panasonic oleds have sold poorly so far. as good as the tv's are, they will have to find a way to cut costs down next year.

yeah but with the current pricing structure, even if they had been selling in the u.s., they'd be relegated to a niche product, the pricing would've been around the double of lg for the same screen size. lg's price to performance ratio is the best, even though in pq the panasonic (and sony) is a little better.

They're supporting HDR10+ instead of DV.

You realize that this is a reference level TV that's basically a professional grade product, right? It's been used by Hollywood in post-production for a reason. It's the best TV on the market.

Hardly a gamble.

To each their own of course and in no way am I implying I am right and you are wrong. If DV wins the format war you will have a very expensive SDR panel. I went with LG as it has fingers in both pies.
