Out of the box LG OLED55B7P with pixel stain and weird diagonal lines

Hi there,

I just opened my brand new LG and after a while i started to realize there was some image artifacts on the midle-left side of the pannel.

I looks like a weird type of stain with an horizontal shape roughly the size of a large remote control.

That thing isn't visible in all scenes, it's easier to spot on single colors textures or large gray areas. On a picture is harder to spot than on moving scenes, since the stain is the only thing that isnt going anywhere.

Also there seems to be some very thin diagonal lines going trough that stain area. (WTH)

My TV is completely new, not even a day old.

Does anyone have any idea of what that could be? Should i contact LG?

If it's a B7P, then it's a Costco model. I'd just take it back to Costco and swap it out for another, they are really good with returns

I had the same/similar issue on my first unit. Seems as pricing is falling, so to is QC. Or perhaps more likely, they're attempting to get rid of 95% functional B-grade panels in hopes people will not notice, overlook, or ignore. Second unit is good as far as uniformity defects are concerned, but the ABL behavior is radically different than the first.

What is really weird is that today i tried really hard to spot those errors without any luck. Aparently they are gone.

I'll keep looking closely in the next days... is there any reasonable explanation to this?

It could be the comp cycles that took care of it...uniformity is tricky on these...so I would monitor it.
