Has anyone been able to hook up and successfully use the Panasonic TU-PT700U Media Receiver with Panasonic's commercial plasmas such as the TH-50PHD8UK?

The TU-PT700U normally comes with the 65" Onyx.

It looks like an almost complete media switcher/tuner.
2 RF Inputs
CableCard
2 Component
2 Composite/2 S-Video
1 HDMI
JPEG photo viewer with multcard reader
ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners
PIP

There are two connectors that hook up to the 65", one DVI and one 26pin D connector. The DVI is most likely for the video input, the 26pin D is probably for setting control of the 65" (color, size/alignment, etc)

i havent tried it but i would assume that if the output of the media reciever allows input to the panny plasma then it should work. the receiver is just being used as the switching source.

The PT700U plugs into the Onyx series with a 26pin D connector and a DVI. The 7UY/8UK and the 50U/500U do not have that connector. On the surface it seems that that connector is the control signals that might be sent from the box for controlling color/bright/contr/other picture controls.

Does anyone know if just the video output from the DVI connector will work or does the box sense that the "control" connector is not connected at complain that the PDP is not there? Is that connector just a control thing?
