What does SD stand for? I've run across this abbreviation numerous times. It is always used in conjunction with HD when comparing the two.
Thanks.

SD refers to the ability of an HD TV to present normal non-HD content. It comes from the term "super-duper." So if you get really good image quality from an HD TV when viewing normal non-HD content, you have a "super-duper" TV. Most people think that SD means "standard definition," but that is just silly.
