Maybe CSR should mean "Canned Standard Responses"??

That's probably more accurate.

Well...I thought since I'd told Ms. Athene quite a while back in this thread that my 0006 cards were up and running...that I'd come back and eat some crow in front of everyone.

Both of my UTVs, one Sony one RCA, have lost the ability to dial out for any reason at all. They don't even acknowledge the existence of a dial tone. A call to DirecTV confirmed that the 0006 cards are the cause of the problem.

New cards are on the way. Sigh.

you're in good company. my new p4 cards have been causing me a lot of headaches too, invalid card messages, receiver locks up if there is a power brownout (brownouts never affected my p3 cards) and missed recordings. so i guess these p4's are making me buy a ups and i too have new cards on the way. the p3's were much more reliable.

I have a 0006 card in my UTV. I had some video glitches and blackouts when I first installed the card, but after putting my unit on a UPS, those problems stopped. I had some signal issues tonight watching "Ransom" on Fox, but it's sleeting here right now so I'm sure that's the cause.

Wow, I must be one of the lucky few to wind up with a couple of bug free UTVs.

When they got to $400 on Ebay I was ready to sell, buy DTivo and pocket the difference. But it's hard to part with good units.

Still, $800 for $150 invested (on something you'd think would depreciate)? Wish my stocks moved so well!! :D

I've got my extra output of my home theater going to a second TV in my office - I can watch all that TV and be here all the time:D

Seriously, though. Other than a few video glitches right after the card swap and one mysteriously unrecorded program (the show aired and had been listed in my Upcoming Recordings, but didn't record - no explanation in the history, but I don't think MS products are allowed to say they screwed up) I haven't had any issues. Geez, for once I buy a product that actually works for me and it gets discontinued. I knew there had to be a catch....

Still not ready to trade it in, though.

I guess I'm still one of the lucky ones......4 RCA UTVs, all with P4 cards (all start with 0006), and STILL not a single glitch. No missed recordings, no lockups, etc. Just smooth sailing on all of them.

Looking forward to see what 3.7 will bring us !!!

Me, too. I'm running UTVs and a DirecTivo now, and I still like the UTV interface a LOT better. I'm waiting until 3.7 on the UTV and 3.1 on the DTivo to decide which of my spare units to sell. I have three spare DTivos and two or three spare UTVs. I need to sell some of them. They're taking up too much room. :)

Well, the power supply point isn't a issue here....one UTV is on a UPS, the other not. Neither will call out.

Just for the heck of it, I placed one of my old P3 cards in the RCA to see if it would then call out. No luck.

Other than the phone out problem, both units are working 100 percent. Maybe I should just order LOTS of PPVs and let DirecTV replace both boxes! :)

----------later that same day------------

Well, things are getting truly stupid. Now both boxes still show no dial tone on test, but happily dial out and connect with MSN.

P4...you test us!
