As you can see, I'm a complete noob on this forum, and I'm not even sure whether this thread should go in the console area, or not. Anyways, I'm going to be purchasing a PS3 in the upcoming months, and I'd love to be able to record gameplay in HD (I love recording gameplay in all my PC games heh), particularly Gran Turismo 5 ^^. I only have a Samsung 206BW, with 1 DVI and 1 VGA input.

Anyways, I was wondering what you guys would think would be the most cost-effective solution for recording in HD, from the PS3. HDMI output is unrecordable because of HDCP unless I get an HDCP stripper, which is, as far as I've seen, too much money. From my research, the best solution I've found is this,
http://blogs.snapstream.com/2008/02/...ppauge-hd-pvr/
I can get one of those when it comes out, and as long as it works, that's a pretty good price, afaik. Since my monitor is an lcd, I'll use the HDMI output with a DVI adapter for normal gameplay so I get the best image quality.

I've also heard about some wireless HD recorders from Silicondust and other companies, would that type of tuner work with this setup?

Thanks in advance.

You can order it now. That's pretty much the only low cost option for recording HD via component.
