I've searched through old posts regarding this issue and it seems not everyone agrees on this matter?

Can anyone here tell me if they can play tapes made with the HSR-DM100 (combined satelite receiver/DHVS deck) on the American HM-DH30000U?

Mark

I have the Japanese 30000 and a HSR-DM100 and tapes made on the DM100 play back just fine on the 30000. I believe the US 30000 will also be just fine.

The first JVC I got played back the Panny tapes full of pixulations..my local repair shop claimed my TV reception was bad (!)

They wanted to send the unit to JVC.. I said forget it.. I called up JAndR .. got a return authorization and ordered another one, which amazingly, works just fine.
