Leszek: That's right. It's not changed to RGB, meaning that it takes a little over 120 MB/s for 4:2:2 rather than the 180 MB/s you mention.

That said, 120 MB/s is difficult to get over a PCI bus. You would still want a 64-bit PCI card.

There are some alternatives. "Lossless" MJPEG comes in at about 1.7x, IIRC. That might introduce some changes to the picture. I don't know (potential banding?). Also, you would have to process it once you got it across the bus.
