I'm currently a Fios customer and I'm using a TiVo HD via cableCARD. I've read about the new Motorola 7232 and people seem to really be excited about it. I'm wondering if it would be to my advantage to get rid of my TiVo HD and switch to the 7232. I'm no longer using the TiVo to stream movies from my PC, and I don't need it for Amazon on demand or for Netflix as my Samsung TV and BD player both have that functionality. Am I going to realize any benefit, other than access to VOD content from HBO, Showtime, etc. by switching to the 7232?

I'm sure you'll get the die-hard TiVo owners chiming in here (I own a 7232), so I won't go into detail, but the main advantages/disadvantages of owning either unit:

Tivo- More optimized menu/program guide. More storage (with upgrades)

7232- No purchase price, no membership fees (outside of cable costs). Potential upgrade in program guide and the ability to add 1tb SATA harddrive (whenever 1.9 update gets rolled out).

I'm sure people will add more.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.
