I am using Charter cable, without the box, although I have one. How do you copy or transfer from Tivo to computer, and how fast is the process? Other than the computer, what else do you need? Are there any limits or restrictions on what you can do with the video files? Can you edit on the Tivo?

I don't own a Tivo but I've read enough about it to know that there is Tivo software you can download from Tivo that will let you transfer recordings to your computer. VideoReDo is software that can edit the tivo files (but only if the file is unprotected. You can't do anything with copy-protected tivo files).

I'm sure you can find all the info in the Tivo threads.
