Would it be better to record tv shows directly to a computer(I-7), or to a Tivo, then transfer to the computer? Don't want to make DVD's, just want files to be on a hard drive that I can edit, copy, etc. I am thinking that the Tivo might be easier to use (program guide, record 2 shows at once, etc), but I have never used one.

For me, the nicest TIVO features are the program guide and the ability to transfer non-copy protected files to a computer via your network. The slick TIVO iPad app is a bonus.

Haven't tried using my computer to record cable directly, but TIVO seems hard to beat for ease of use.
