Looks interesting to me ....
The Simple.tv site: https://www.simple.tv/

Perhaps manual recording will suffice, avoiding the $4.95 per month for Premiere Service.

Manual recording is a PITA once you get used to a season pass style.

"Dang! You got shocks, pegs... lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps? "

Looks interesting to me. However I wonder if...
  • You can view shows time delayed before they are over.
  • What if any quality hit the image will take.
Sounds like it would be cool to to use with a Roku or whatnot. The $5 a month doesn't even scare me as long it it approaches TiVo's level of convenience.

Just read it only has a single tuner never mind. Still waiting for Roku or someone else to support HDHomerun on a semi-serious basis.

Dunno. Simple TV seems a little too limited and pricey for what you get. One tuner, you need an external HD, and a box to stream it to.

I would hope it accepts network storage for recordings and not just a USB drive. Even ten years ago I was able to record my HD programs directly to my Network storage.

Yes, you can view shows that are currently recording.
simple.tv converts and stores programming as mpeg4. The image quality is good. May not be fantastic for fast moving programming such as sports.
