What is the best and biggest hard drive that I can buy for long term usage in my Direct TV box. I think the model number of my Direct TV box is a HR-20.

I am wanting to put the hard drive in an external hard drive holder.

Thanks for your help,

KillerBox

Don't know specifics of the HR-20, but when I looked into replacing/upgrading the HDD in the DTVPal DVR I was told that just about any HDD would work but the best ones and ones used in the original units were AV specific HDDs. I ended up getting a manufacturer refurbed Western Digital AV-GP WD5000AVVS 500GB SATA 3.5 Hard Drive for $66 delivered. Works like new!

Same guy still has same HDDs for sale on Ebay for $70 delivered if you are interested.
