When will the iView-4000STB Digital Converter Box become available in the United States? It sounds better than the 3500!

Are you sure this has DVR capability? I saw no mention of it, if it were only a STB then the thread would need to go in the HDTV Technical forum, this one is for DVRs.
I HATE the looks of the 4000, one strike against it for me smile.gif

Gee, something that looks worse than the stupid looking simpleTV. rolleyes.gif
Kinda a draw which is worse. Gotta love the Chinese, they still have no clue how to market anything for the US.

Nothing about it being a DVR.

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way.
The Internet is no place for streaming video.

What are the odds that the OP never comes back?

The same odds as 90% of all the others newbies that don't edit their preferences for notifications. They forget about the post, didn't bookmark the site. End of story.
This company need to correct what they already have instead of importing more 'stuff'. (being nice here)

My sentiments exactly! What they already have(the 3500) is an OK foundation, they just need to correct some of the bugs of which many are probably just a somewhat easy firmware fix. Unfortunately it's probably easier to churn out more of the same, different case and model number frown.gif
My guess with the 3500 is basically we get what we got and if you can't live with it's bugs/limitations your probably better off looking for more expensive solutions(which may or may not have similar bugs and limitations) frown.gif

The state of consumer own-able DVRs is quite pathetic, you've got Tivo(at $500+ for the no monthly fee option) and then cheaper DVRs that all have various bugs and limitations, some minor some critical. I purchased my Tivo w/lifetime 4+ years ago and haven't looked back but for a second DVR there is no way I'm going to choke up another $500+ so I'm willing to limp by with the 3500 for my overflow recording. I'd be very hard pressed to have the 3500 be my only DVR(basically no way I could without maybe using 3 in tandem) but for people with simpler needs it sure is cheap smile.gif

BTW I could find no current sellers of the 4000stb, who knows if or when it will even come to fruition...
