The 2004 International CES listed the DirecTV HD TiVo, with a very small amount of information, although there is a name and a contact address.

There is also a high-rez picture of the front of the unit...make sure you don't drool all over your keyboard:

If anyone has any release dates and prices available, please let me know!

There are many topics discussing the HD Tivo including this one:

Approx March 2004... Roughly $700 estimated.

I got this reply from Sylvette Barr from Hughes:

"Won't be available until late february. I assume they will be available online, circuit city, best buy and other distibution channels. "

Very exciting news indeed...

I'm guessing he's reacting to the "late Feb." availability, which is a bit earlier than previously advertised.

In my experience these things are always late so sometime in April sounds more realistic to me. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt they can go from beta to final production model in just 2-3 months.

We don't really know what aspect of the unit is being tested ... I'm personally hoping it's more in a "usability" phase of testing at this point, with hardware pretty much finalized, functionality pretty much established, in which case it could still be very close to release.

"hoping" being the key phrase.
