The UltimateTV satellite receiver even has two DirecTV tuners so you can watch two shows at the same time. It's described here http://www.etown.com/news/article.jhtml?articleID=3869

Wonder if RCA can deliver it as scheduled by February. I sure hope
so!!

This seems to be bigger news from than RCA's 50" LCOS HDTV (described in the first part of the link).

This says nothing about this being an HD box. Do you know anything different?

I talked to the program manager for this product at CES. She said that a HD version may come along later this year. My impression was that she didn't have a clue and that they were focused(as usual) on the mass market which we all know is not HD. I would have to think that MPAA will try to get in the way of an HD version.

RCA will not build the RCA TIVO until the lawsuit over the guide with Tivo vs. TV Guide is settled. So don't look for it anytime soon...

This is NOT an HD box and therefore this thread is misplaced. Also, this box has NOTHING on the DirecTV/Tivo combos from Sony and Philips other than that the 2nd tuner works. The Tivo combo has a second tuner, too. Of course, the Tivo unit *is* actually shipping, unlike this mythic box. And, I wouldn't be shocked if Tivo has the software out to enable the 2nd tuner before this thing ships.

There is no difference in HDMI cables. If you can see the picture without visible dropouts or sparklies, the cable is working at 100%. No other cable will display a better version of that picture. You're simply wrong if you think there is a better digital cable than one that is already working. (Oh, and plasma didn't die because of logistics problems, nor does OLED ship in big boxes because it comes from Korea.)
