Sorry guys, I tried to do some searching and since the forums were broke up I'm having trouble finding anything on this. Can someone give me the quick run down on which DV decks work best and how much they should be?

How is the Sony DSR-11? I like the size of the thing. Also, do most of the DVD decks permit scheduled recording events?

Thanks.

Tom

I believe andy stated that they didn't have a list yet of decks that could be used.

It was posted that all Sony decks camcorders and Digital8 they tested through model year 1999 were currently compatible and that they are working to increase this. I know that among full size decks they have seen only the DHR1000, and it works and can record up to 4 hours and 40 minutes on a 3 hour DVcam tape in reliable SP mode. I heard that the DSR11 can also do DV-SP mode on full size tapes and get 4 hrs and 40 minutes, but they haven't tested the DSR11 yet with the 169time product. Chances are that if it doesn't currently work they will make it work soon. The ability to timer record to a single deck seems to work on all decks and isn't a compatibility issue.

I'll soon have the Sony WV-DR5 unit from Japan, and as soon as I get my mod DTC-100 from 169time, I'll report on how it works.

The DR-5 is for me....(miniDV, DV, and VHS {no use for me} all in one deck)

-> No longer looking for Hi-Vision LDs <-

(I buried that format finally)
