I just thought I'd let you know that I bought an Amoisonic VDR off of ebay for $699 and it is AWESOME! If you have a chance to check one out I urge you to do so!

I THINK this is a Video Disk Recorder which just records mpeg straight to CD. I could be wrong. It sounds interesting enough to take a look at, but I have a feeling that this thing can't do HDTV resolutions, and probably doesn't belong in this forum. I will look it up to make sure though.

Yup. Took a look at it. It only supports up to 350 lines using s-video. It basically will burn cd's using Mpeg or Mpeg 2. The quality I think can range from VCD to DVD quality, but with DVD qualtiy u only get 18 minutes on a cd. This company also makes a PVR as well that looked kind of interesting.
