For all those suffering with the Japanese manual, I thought I would start a thread for keeping translation information in a common place. Here's my 1st contribution

pages 14-15 (courtesy W. Choi)

(1) Powe button : Power on/off
(2) Timer button (See 69,71 page) : Timer Recording on/off
(3) Display button (See 65 page) : Display [tape running time] or [tape remain time] or [clock] (toggle)
(4) Front window
(5) Stop/Eject button : Stop playing or recording. Eject tape in stop status
(6) Play button : Play tapes
(7) Front Input Box
(8) Signal receiving area from remote controller
(9) Front door
(10) i-Link connector (See 76, 118, 127 pages)
Connect i-Link cable from "BS digital tuner" or "digital CS tuner". Also, use this part in order to digital dub to D-VHS tape from Digital Video Camcorder.
* about [S200] : All gears with i-Link has each limitation of transfer capacity. i.Link's maximum data transfer speed is about 100/200/400 Mbps. These can be express by S100/S200/S300. If you connect the one with the other having different maximum speed, the real transfer speed can be different with expressed speed.
* about [Mbps] : An abbreviation of [Mega bits per second]. Display data capacity for communication per a second. This gear can transfer 200 Mega bit data per a second.
(11) Video/Audio Inputs : Use for dubbing with video camera or other video gears.
(12) 3DNR button/Lamp (See 108 page) : active/deactive 3DNR chip(3D Noise Reduction chip) on S-VHS/VHS mode. No come under D-VHS.
(13) S-VHS ET button (See 113 page) : Use for S-VHS recording on VHS tape material.
* S-ET Lamp (See 113 page) : light on at time using S-VHS ET button.
(14) Channel/Tracking button (See 66, 111 pages) : Use for changing channel or adjustment tracking.
(15) Display window : Display the status of VCR.
(16) Tape selection buttons :
* HS/STD/LS3/Standard(SP)/3X mode(EP) buttons (See 66 page) : Toggle recording speed.
* D-VHS button (See 62 page) : Use for recording S-VHS on D-VHS material/or recording D-VHS on S-VHS material. Toggle key.
* Recording button (See 66 page) : Start recording. If you press this key again in status of recording, you can set up the recording time by 30-minutes unit. (each pressing extends 30 minutes)
* Pause button (See 64, 108 pages) : Pause playing or recording. If you press this key again in status of "pause playing", tape will be played by a way of comma-transferring.(Frame advance)
* Rewind button (See 64, 64 pages) : 'Reverse picture search' in status of playing, 'Fast Rewind' in status of stop.
* Forward button (See 63, 64 pages) : 'Forward picture search' in status of playing, 'Fast Forward' in status of stop.

Button "10" on remote control is counter reset

Is there a way to include images in the post? This thread would benefit with the inclusion of images,

I just made an Adobe Acrobat document containing a picture of the HM-DH30000 remote control labeled in English. I will be happy to send that document to anyone who emails me with their return e-mail address. If someone can tell me how to post that in this forum, I could then post it there.

You need a web site to stick it on. Easy way is to see if your ISP offers a few megabytes of free space to subscribers. Another easy way is to hack into Microsoft (just kidding). Email me your latest version and I'll stick it up for you.

BTW for those who haven't seen what Orio has done -- it's probably exactly what the US version of the remote will look like when JVC releases it later this year.
