Have I misunderstood previous posts stating that you can record HBO-HD, SHO-HD off DISH network with the DISH5000 receiver/HDTV modulator, using the panasonic PV-HD1000/TU-DST50/51 combination? If this is the case, how do you connect the DISH5000 to the TU-DST-50/51 to do this? Thanks

The RF out from the 5000 HDTV adaptor simply connects to the 8vsb or DTV antenna input on the DST50/51. Not that the DST51 has both NTSC and DTV antenna inputs, use the DTV. If you have a DTV OTA antenna, that then goes to the antenna input of the 5000 HDTV adaptor. The OTA antenna will pass through if the 5000 is not viewing an HDTV channel.

The HDTV adaptor can be set to channel 3 or 4 within the 5000 menu structure.

The HDTV adaptor can drift in frequency so it may be set to channel 3 and the DST50/51 see's it on channel 4. I have had this problem.

Note the HDTV adaptor IS REQUIRED. The normal RF out of the 5000 will not work.
