Divide the "DF" number in half to get the nominal number of minutes for HD recording. A DF-420 is equivalent to an ST-210 and will record slightly over 210 minutes. All tapes seem to have an extra minute or two of length as a safety factor.

What do the various DVHS tape types/numbers translate in to, as far as record time?

For example, how many minutes of HDTV can one typically record on a "300", "420" etc?

Just wondering...
