IT THERE ANY WAY TO RECORD HDTV W/O THE DISH 5000 AND PVR? I HAVE DIRECT TV AND I WANT TO RECORD SOME OF THE BROADCASTS, EVEN IF I CAN ONLY RECORD OTA. ANY IDEAS ?

If you check out the HTPC forum you will find a good solution to store the video recorded from the hi-pix and WinTV-HD onto Camcorder DV tapes (forgot what they are actually called now).

The camcorder backup tools are called DVSpoof. This approach works.
