Just curious if anyone has looked into whether the ATSC signal is available inside of the Dish 6000? All of this chasing about looking for 5000 modulators makes one wonder if the signal is available inside the 6000. Second question is whether the 5000 modulator could be cloned?

Wishful thinking,

There have been some discussions about "cloning" the modulator and the consensus seems to be that the custom firmware
burned into some of the chips in the modulator
would make it very difficult.

No one has publicly claimed to find a way to get ATSC out
of a Dish 6000, but maybe someone will find a way someday.

I hate to even mention this but....169time mentioned trying to modify a Dish 6000. No price was given but it was a project of theirs.

If they ever resurface and make due on outstanding claims, it might be worth a shot to contact them. I think they have a bad reputation or someone here is upset with them. I think it's something minor like shipping charges or bad customer reps. ;-)
