I have the Panny HD 1000 and STB setup. I just purchased a Panasonic PV-DV951 digital camcorder with a firewire out connection.

Is it possible to output from the camcorder to the HD1000 then show the tape over the STB. I have called Panasonic and they are basically clueless about this issue-as well as many others.

The digital stream from a DV camcorder is output from a DV encoder. A DV decoder is required to restore the video, and a Panny STB does not have such a decoder.

Analog -- Always out of adjustment.
Digital -- Always one more bug.
