I just purchased a Panasonic DMRE20 DVD Recorder. Does anyone have one yet? I was looking at D-VHS recorder but this just came out and I got it for only $899. Previous version was around $4000. It records on DVD-R - which are now about $6 each and will be able to play on set top DVD players. DVD- R will hold b/w 2-6 hrs of video. And DVD-RW will hold up to 12 hours.

I don't receive it until tomorrow so I can't comment on performance now.

I will post back when I get the Panasonic DVD recorder and can comment on quality of shows transferred from Ultimate TV which will be my source for now. Any experiences with this? I would like to be able to back up shows that you cannont purchase on DVD already.
