YXY doesn't work with (non VIP) HiPix. Anyone know how I can reduce the size of its 4:3 image and control its placement to conform to my 16:9 screen?

If nothing else, I could get an additional video card with VIP (my ATI Radeon LE has no VIP header), if that's the answer. Anybody know?

Do not bother with VIP. That will only provide lower resolution image (480P, I think). There is no way right now to get full HDTV image from any card to 'overlay' on your screen. And YXY only works with overlay.

HiPix and other cards put out a standard image. I am not sure why you need to re-scale or move it. Is your monitor correctly set up? HiPix does have options for different display modes (I think called crop or full, or something like that). Try those. They work for 4x3 sources to allow stretching the image or enlarging it to fill the screen.
