I am capturing HD content via firewire from a Motorola 6208 HDTV-Tuner. DVHSTool is nice, but are there any alternatives? I would really like to be able to break the capture file into chunks so that I don't have single 10+ GB files.

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you.

CapDVHS allows splitting, I think, but what's your aversion to 10gb+ files?

Thanks,

No, you basically can't record anything 5C encypted using a windows PC.

---

The player app that comes with the DVico Fusion ATSC tuner cards has the ability to record from IEEE1394 devices as well. (It can also decode AAC audio from Japan BS D-VHS tapes)

Too bad Media Player Classic can do that as well, and without any external filters.

What I'd like to have is some tool thats faster than murdoccut for cutting MPEG2/AAC streams - have not found anything as usable as womble mpeg wizard is for MPEG2/AC3...

DVHSTool does allow splitting. Go to menu/DVHS/Settings/File Segment Size.

Windows 6.0 is Vista (also known as Longhorn). Basically, the installer is telling you they don't support Vista.
