Here's a quote from Mark Schubin's Monday Memo this week, used by permission:

"- A correspondent reports from the Western Cable Show that some
Motorola, Pioneer, and Scientific-Atlanta HDTV set-top boxes could offer
HD PVR functionality if so desired."

Mildly interesting. I'd noticed that Scientific Atlanta and Motorola had cable STBs announced that had both HD and PVR capabilities, but in none of their PR did they assert that they could record HD (though obviously not hard). Hopefully they will put large enough disk drives in them and software as nice as Tivo's or ReplayTV's.
