Ok, so I'm in Vegas for a conference and what the hell does a happily married horror fanatic do in Vegas at night? Visit Eli' Roth's Goretorium of course! They had very very strict rules about phones or cameras being pulled out and used in the haunt but I got some good shots of the entry area and upstairs bar that looks over the strip. I will say that the haunt walk through was pretty damn awesome, you can tell this is a guy that really has a proper eye for set design and atmosphere. For $28 it should have been a tad longer but still a worthwhile experience for folks like us. Photo spam incoming....

+1 on the Goretorium in Vegas. I believe the shot I recently posted is from there.

It was really pretty badass inside, you could tell some love went into it. I wish I could have gotten some pics but they would have kicked me out... I'll have to get a go pro for next time.

The Conjuring looks spooky as hell. Things in the trailer that'd I'd run like hell from if I saw. No house is worth it.

kenobi those pics look sick! can't imagine how cool it musta been inside. :jealous:

I've heard lots of great things about the conjuring. Rated R, there's minimal gore, one cuss word plus no nudity. Scary enough for an R, and the studio is ok with it? sounds good to me!

Watched "The Last Exorcism Part II" on BD. It was a rental from Redbox and Sony is the distributor so not a rental disc and had commentary and some short extras on it. I wasn't sure if I had seen "The Last Exorcism" but now recall the film after seeing the extras. I thought they did a good job with scares and the commentary with the director and Eli Roth was quite interesting. Though rated PG-13 the disc includes a scene in the movie that was cut to get a PG-13.

I greatly enjoyed the first episode of Under The Dome, I wished they had made it 2 hours long for that first night, it was over too fast! I'm a big SK fan but so many of the movies made based on his work have been bad, I'm hopeful that UTD will stay this good.

I tried watching it on my big screen on NF WI but for some odd reason Magnet chose NOT to have burned-in subtitles. My set is a 13 year old HD RPTV and of course doesn't have CC for HD so even with the HDMI converter I'm outta luck. I watched the first 3 stories on my Android phone instead which does show the subtitles. The first one reminded me of the short film I made in the late 1990s back when there wasn't much of a way to show it online. I'm thinking the old set has to go in spite of a picture everyone likes just because it rather limits me for some things. My Android tablet has HDMI but not 1080i out (just 720p).

Seriously! I need more info on that one because I almost rented it tonight but vudu declined my rental and I was too lazy to update my account with my new non-fraudulently used cc# so I watched TCM The Beginning instead... what can I say I'm a sucker for Sgt. Lee Emery and chainsaws wink.gif

Yes, you both need to check it out next time you are there. I was there for a conference otherwise Vegas is one of the last destinations I would spend $$ to get to. After the first couple hours I was like... "ok so every guy is like GQ tan n' ripped or jihad sunglasses and cologne bath, the women tourists and the hookers dress the same and are indistinguishable, Asians really like to gamble, and why the eff are there kids here??" I really don't understand that place but finding the Goretorium was the diamond in the rough!

Now that I am officially out of work mad.gif I may actually find some time to go see The Conjuring! If it happens I'll be sure to give some feedback. I do like Vera Farmiga so it's not a hard sell.
