No way!!!!

I have now had a chance to watch the first half of Sharknado-2, fantastic!!! Funny as hell, campy, and what makes it really great for me is that it takes place in New York. Great shots and use of New York places so far, and good cameo's too. I love this movie!!!!

Not sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.

I picked up Joy Ride 3 at Redbox this week. It has a few creative kills with a bit of gore but there could have been more. It's not great but worth watching.

I knocked out all the episodes of The Strain last night. Pretty good stuff. I wouldn't say I'm invested all the way just yet but it has its moments. There's some legit creepy stuff going on.

I saw the first two but have not gotten to the third yet. I like the premise though, and since I do not have much faith in serial tv I started reading the books in conjunction with the show. Am almost done with the third. The three books span about two years since the original plane outbreak. I don't know if I can recommend the books? I just wanted to find out what happens to the characters, and did not want to wait for the tv show. I am impatient like that and why I prefer movies to tv. 90-120 minutes and you have resolution. I suspect they will change a few things to go on a slightly different path than the book, just to keep the book readers guessing - like the Walking Dead tv show compared ot the graphic novels. I prefer the comics over the WD tv show. They already have changed a few things from just first two shows of the Strain, but nothing major.

It happened to be on tv when my eight year old had a friend over. They were running around doing stuff but gradually it drew them in and before I knew it they were both sititng down trying to watch it. Just the last 30 minutes, but they really got into it. Since then my daughter has been pestering to get the bluray so we can watch the whole thing - lol. Hoping for a black friday $7.99 special.

YES! (in the Napoleon Dynamite voice) about Shark Week!

I watched the Strain last night on my DVR and I did like the autopsy part was great!

I still need to have Jaws in my collection and it was $7.99 last week! Speaking of discs, I will be vacationing in CA in a few weeks and I hope my buddy who owns a record store has some Horror (or other movies) sound tracks on vinyl. I will post some pics up for Oct if I get any! I think it is pretty cool still listening to these recordings and they do sound good on my system.

Where? I'm usually splitting time between Sac and the Bay Area with work so if you are in that region and want to grab a beer shoot me a PM.

You guys are killing me, how was Jaws on bluray not a day one purchase? Especially after all the praise and a perfect score of 100 from Mr. Potts!

Sweet!

I may actually be down there as well either Sat 8/16 or 8/23. Not sure which yet, my brother lives down there (Ladera Ranch) and am heading down for a brief visit. Check out the Disney art store on the right side of Main St. next to the bank near the entrance. Last time I was there they had some badass Haunted Mansion schtuff.

I plan to see that store because I do need some Haunted Mansion stuff! I still remember that Haunted Mansion wreath I should have bought years ago because they don't sell them anymore!

I wonder if they will show up around Sept/Oct when they change the Mansion to Nightmare Before Christmas? Looks like Phil Sears has a Haunted Mansion Plaque for $249

Yep. I bought it a couple years ago and if I remember right, it was the first movie in my 2012 list. Highly recommended. PQ was mostly spectacular and the LFE was on point.

In other news, my wife is pretty adamant that we book a weekend trip for this in October.

Last year was the first time they put it on. It was in Ponoma, CA but my wife and I found out about it a little too late to make arrangements to go. This year, the one in Chicago is the same one that was in Ponoma but there's also one in Arizona that features new attractions (I believe).

A "don't say I warned ya" for "Kill Zombie" which is currently popular on Netflix WI. It's a Dutch comedy horror film about a Russian satellite which crashes in Amsterdam releasing a virus that turns the populace into zombies. "Sean of the Dead" it ain't but might work with a serving of Amsterdam brownies.

Looks awesome! Too bad it is so far from me though. If I was going to travel for one I'd go to Universal Studios Hollywood. They do an amazing job as you'd expect and some of the rides and attractions are open as well. I went one hear for a friends bday (his bday is Halloween!) and it was crazy fun!

Yeah, I would imagine that Universal Studios and other big-time theme parks would put on a great Halloween-themed experience. My interest in this one though, is obviously because it is based on RZ's material. It would be really sweet to go on opening night when RZ is performing. We saw him and Marilyn Manson a couple years back in Mankato, MN and it was off the charts.

Agreed, would love to see his haunted houses but the volume of content would be huge at US. Been a while since I saw metal show, I think NIN was the last one I went to if that counts. Back in the day I used to do Ozzfest regularly... Slipknot, Manson, Mudvayne, System of a Down, Tool, etc. Fun times. I think I would die if I tried to do an all day event like that if I started booz'n at 11am.

Yeah, I honestly don't really get into metal at all. Mostly hip hop and classic rock stuff. But I love RZ and really dig Manson, so when they were touring together; we had to see it.

Funny..... I say that I don't get into metal when I'm heading to Minneapolis this weekend for the Kiss/Def Leopard concert......I was talked into it by my wife and some mutual friends......Oh well, I'm fairly certain that its gonna be good time.
