Started Hemlock Grove season two. They amped up the gore and obtuse. Lots of lingering gore and a dialogue style you just have to "get." This will keep the mainstream on board as haters.

New found footage film from the guy that brought you The Blair Witch Project!

Since we are getting close to Halloween, I was wondering what scary Horror commercials/movie trailers that scared you as a kid?

I will go first....Scanners!

I've never been scared of a movie commercial but I remember hating Lysol commercials and crying when they came on. Also that Native American guy crying over the littering got me once.

Looks like more praise for The Babadook! Unfortunate that it is set for a domestic release just after Thanksgiving. Talk about bad timing, horror movies have a hard enough time as it is, why the hell would the release it a month after Halloween?

I don't recall many commercials but browsing the horror section at Video Outlet and looking at the back of the VHS box was dangerous. Rawhead Rex sticks out, that one scared me before I saw it.

lol, "just give me my FN phone call"

Exists looks like it could go either way. Has a lot of fail potential between another found footage woods flick and harry and the hendersons. That said if executed well and written properly it could really deliver.

The blog guy in the link darth posted doesn't seem to really mirror my tastes but Babadook I really want to see and the other one, Starry Eyes looks fantastically FUBAR (no release date yet)

Dead Snow 2 will be fun for sure and I saw a trailer for The Guest when I went to see Most Wanted Man, looks good but not horror at all, thriller yes, horror no.

Honeymoon also looks good, I think I posted about that a while back. Release date on IMDB is 9/12/14

Probably closer to 3. Dead Snow was fun but with all the movies available I probably only would have picked 2 of the 10 he mentioned. Honeymoon I would have waited for rental.

Can I still be awesome?

You could print out a screenshot of each frame of that scene and replace it every day with the next frame. See how long it takes for someone to notice it moving.

I've gotten a hold of Coherence one the the titles on the list, haven't watched it yet, the trailer looked intriguing. It's up on iTunes and Amazon Instant, no Blu-ray yet.
All the titles seemed interesting but I would not call all of these horror/scary/frightening. That being said, thanks for the link

The covers for Re-Animator and Phantasm left quite an impression, as do various Hellraisers.

Good news for the cord-cutters. The Walking Dead (repeats) begin airing on MyNetworkTV this fall.

True Tales of Horror.

I sit in my office this morning and just outside the door are four grown ass men talking about what they are wearing to the sportsball game tomorrow. Probably dropped 30 different brand names inside of ten minutes. One also said "The Lord chose us to beat them."

I'm reminded of that scene in Friday the 13th Part 5 where the mental guy axes the candy bar dude.

If Al Qaeda needed a moment to catch us slipping it's now.

It is funny the things we choose to remember way back when. I think that was the UK version of the trailer but I do remember the count down and the EKG green light thingy when it aired in the US. I was only 5 then but damn that commercial scared me!

Predators will not kill them either, unless pressed. As witnessed in the original Alien Vs Predator when the predator did not kill Weyland since he detected the cancer (or whatever) in him.

I can't recall jackets or trailers getting me. I do remember being 16 and taking a date to Alien, at original release, and being so freaked by the movie I didn't even try anything with my date.
